As 2026 begins, it’s a great moment to reflect on the achievements of Creative Dance Industries throughout 2025. This past year, we reached thousands of young dancers and educators across Brisbane and beyond, creating opportunities for growth, creativity, and confidence. Our work has touched over 800 students in after-school classes and more than 15,000 students through school programs aligned with the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) outcomes. We also supported hundreds of teachers in understanding and delivering dance education effectively.
This post shares key highlights from 2025, showcasing how dance has become a powerful tool for learning and self-expression in our community.
After-School Dance Classes: Building Skills and Confidence
In 2025, Creative Dance Industries proudly taught over 800 students in after-school dance classes across Brisbane, Redlands, Logan, Ipswich and North Brisbane. These classes offered more than just movement training—they provided a platform for students to develop confidence and stage presence.
Key achievements include:
Participation in eisteddfods, concerts, and musicals: Students had multiple chances to perform publicly, gaining valuable experience in front of audiences. These events helped them build self-assurance and teamwork skills.
Skill development: Classes focused on a variety of dance styles, allowing students to explore different techniques and find their unique expression.
Community engagement: Many students formed lasting friendships and a sense of belonging through their shared passion for dance.
These experiences have helped young performers grow not only as dancers but also as confident individuals ready to take on new challenges.
Delivering Dance Programs to Schools Aligned with ACARA Outcomes
Creative Dance Industries expanded its reach in 2025 by delivering dance programs to over 15,000 students in schools. These programs were carefully designed to meet ACARA outcome statements, ensuring that students received quality education aligned with national standards.
Highlights of the school programs:
Collaborative learning: Students worked together to create and perform dances, fostering teamwork and communication.
Choreography skills: Many students had the chance to choreograph their own pieces, encouraging creativity and leadership.
Dance theory: Programs included lessons on dance history, styles, and elements, deepening students’ understanding of the art form.
Outstanding results: Teachers reported significant progress in students’ abilities and enthusiasm for dance.
By integrating dance into the school curriculum, we helped students develop both practical skills and a deeper appreciation for the performing arts.

Supporting Teachers to Navigate the Arts Curriculum
A major focus in 2025 was supporting hundreds of teachers as they navigated the Arts curriculum, particularly in dance education. Many educators face challenges in delivering dance lessons due to limited training or resources. Creative Dance Industries provided practical support to help teachers feel confident and capable.
Support initiatives included:
Resource sharing: Providing lesson plans, activity guides, and video demonstrations to assist teachers in their classrooms.
Ongoing mentoring: Offering advice and feedback throughout the school year to help teachers refine their approach.
Assessment advice / assistance: Providing support, advice and feedback to teachers conducting assessments, and reducing workload by our CDI instructors running and conducting assessments in full for school teachers.
This support helped teachers bring dance to life in their schools, enriching students’ learning experiences.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Reflecting on 2025, Creative Dance Industries is proud of the impact made on young performers and educators. The combination of after-school classes, school programs, and teacher support has created a strong foundation for continued growth.
As we move into 2026, our goal remains clear: to inspire creativity, build confidence, and foster a love of dance in communities across Brisbane and beyond. We invite families, schools, and educators to join us in this journey.
Together, we can continue to open doors for young people to express themselves, learn new skills, and shine on stage.
